PARENTS - Wondering if Marching Band & Guard is the place for your student?
Here's what an alumni family has to say, with a wonderful link - check it out.
Hello Maribeth, Troy and Jeff - wanted to pass this link on to you. You all should read it- we parents agree completely!
http://alphamom.com/parenting/big-kid/why-your-teen-should-join-school-marching-band/
I read it and realized that by the end, I had a few tears in my eyes. You people are heroes. Thank you.
Anna and Phil are nurturing more band & orchestra geeks now themselves. Phil leads the orchestras in 5 middle and high schools in Rowland Heights, CA. Anna teaches several flute students at a music school in Irvine. Most of her work hours are spent at the Music Conservatory at Biola University. She never tires of spending time with music people! Anna and Phil are both involved in performing. Phil fiddles a ton (check out The Show Ponies sometime) along with regular violin gigs. The both play in a band that performs Irish jigs, all styles of folk and classical music..any music that will make you smile, tap your toe and dance. They also play in their church band. Anna now owns 5 or 6 nice flutes of various sizes and materials. You people have left your mark!
Although Mark and I don't get up to Valley for concerts anymore, we always intend to do that! But everyday when I look up the hill in your direction I thank God for the influence you all have had in our lives. This is the truth- please be encouraged.
